The following instructions cover typical usage
of Netscape Messenger/Communicator and assume the software
has been installed correctly on your system. The instructions
are only for individuals with a direct Internet connection,
by modem or network. If you are behind a firewall or proxy
server, the information below may not work. Consult your network
administrator for more information. Click on the link below
depending on which mail software you are using.

IMPORTANT: Wherever you see pop.registeredsite.com
and smtp.registeredsite.com noted, you must type this information
exactly as it is written. Do not use pop.yourdomain.com or
smtp.yourdomain.com.
This section describes how to configure
Netscape Navigator to access your POP e-mail box.
1. From Options menu, select Mail and News
Preferences.

2. Click the Servers tab at the top of
the dialog box.
• Outgoing Mail Server: "smtp.registeredsite.com"
• Incoming Mail Server: "pop.registeredsite.com"
• POP3 User Name: popID/yourdomain.com

3. Click the Identity tab.
• Name: your name
• Your E-mail: the e-mail address for the POP mailbox
• Reply-to Address: your e-mail address

All other settings are optional. Choosing
Netscape Mail from the Window menu will then open a box that
will allow you read and send mail.

This section describes how to configure
Netscape Communicator to access your POP e-mail box.
1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.

2. Open the Mail & Groups section,
and Click Mail Server.
• Mail Server User Name: popID/yourdomain.com
• Outgoing Mail Server: "smtp.registeredsite.com"
• Incoming Mail Server: "pop.registeredsite.com"

3. Click Identity in the left column.
• Your Name: your name
• E-mail Address: the e-mail address for the POP mailbox
• Reply-to Address: your e-mail address

All the other settings are optional. Choosing
Messenger Mailbox from the Communicator menu will open the
part of Netscape that allows you to read and send mail.

This section describes how to configure
Netscape Communicator to access your POP e-mail box.

and click Mail Servers.

Messenger Mailbox from the Communicator menu will open the

1. Open Netscape Mail.
2. Click Edit on the menu bar.
3. Click Preferences in the Edit menu.

4. Click Identity under the Mail & Newsgroups
section of the Preferences window and complete the following
fields.

• Your Name
- The name from which any e-mail sent using this profile will
display.
• E-mail Address
- The e-mail address from which any e-mail sent
using this profile will display.
5. Click Mail Servers under the Mail & Newsgroups
section of the Preferences box, then click Edit under Incoming
Mail Servers.
6. Complete the following fields in the Mail
Server Properties Box:

• Server Name
- The mail server from which e-mail is to be retrieved. Enter
mail.your domain name. For example: mail.sonicinet.com.
• Server Type
- All SonicInet mail servers use the POP3 protocol.
Do not change the server type to anything besides
POP3.
• User Name -
The user on your iMail server from which you
wish to retrieve mail. See the iMail - creating
users section for setting up additional accounts.
7. Click OK to return to the Preferences window.
8. Complete the following fields under Outgoing
Mail Server.
• Outgoing Mail
(SMTP) Server - The mail server through which e-mail will be
sent. You may use your ISP's outgoing mail server, or your
SonicInet mail server, which is the same as your incoming mail
server.
• Outgoing
Mail Server User Name - If you are using your
mail server at SonicInet, leave this field
blank.
9. Click OK to close the Preferences window.

This section describes how to configure Netscape
Communicator to access your POP e-mail box.
1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.

Mailbox from the Communicator menu will open the part of Netscape
that allows you to read and send mail.
Unfortunately, Netscape Messenger does not natively
support retrieval of multiple e-mail accounts for POP3 mail
servers. To retrieve mail from multiple accounts, you will
need to setup additional user profiles using the User Profile
Manager supplied with Netscape. See your Netscape documentation
for more information.
